Avanafil treats male sexual issues (impotence or erectile dysfunction-ED). With intercourse stimulation, avanafil boosts blood flow to the penis to assist a male with achieving and sustaining an erection. This drug does not secure against sexually transmitted contaminations (like HIV, hepatitis B, gonorrhea, and syphilis). Instructions on taking Avanafil Tablet
Before taking avanafil and when you get a refill, read the Patient Information Leaflet if available from your pharmacist. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Swallow this medicine as commanded by your doctor, either with or without meals. This medicine is available in different dosages. Depending on your dose, ingest avanafil about 15 minutes or 30 minutes before sexual activity. Carefully adhere to your doctor’s directions about how many minutes ahead of sexual activity you should take this medication. Do not take more than once a day.
Your doctor and pharmacist need to know about all the products you use, including prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs, and herbal products. The dosage prescribed depends on your medical condition, response to treatment, and other medications taken concurrently.
If you do not see any improvement in your condition, let your doctor know.
Side Effects
You may experience symptoms like headache, flushing, or dizziness. In such cases, talk to your doctor or pharmacist immediately if these effects worsen.
To avoid dizziness and lightheadedness, rise from sitting or lying positions slowly.
Bear in mind that your physician has given you this prescription because it is beneficial to you, despite any potential side effects. Most people taking this medication do not experience significant adverse effects.
During sexual activity, more strain is put on your heart, especially if there are pre-existing conditions. If you have heart problems and experience any serious side effects like severe dizziness, fainting, chest/jaw/left arm pain, or nausea during sex, seek medical help immediately.

On rare occasions, someone taking avanafil may suddenly experience loss of hearing or decreased hearing, accompanied by ringing in the ears and dizziness. People should stop taking the drug immediately and seek medical help if this happens.
If you experience an extended or very painful erection for more than 4 hours, discontinue use and seek medical help right away. Otherwise, permanent damage might be done.
Although it’s rare, seek medical help immediately if you experience any signs of a severe allergic reaction, such as rash, itching/swelling (especially around the face/tongue/throat), extreme dizziness, or difficulty breathing.

Precautions
If you have allergies either to avanafil or any other ingredients, make sure to speak with your doctor or pharmacist before taking the medication. Inactive ingredients may also present allergic reactions and other issues, so check with your pharmacist for more information.
Before taking this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist of any prior medical history, mainly if you have had: heart problems in the past six months.
This medication might cause you to feel lightheaded or make your vision blurry. Drinking alcohol or consuming cannabis could heighten the dizziness. Before you’re able to do so safely, don’t do anything that requires alertness or clear vision, such as driving or operating machinery. Try and limit how much alcohol you consume. If you are taking cannabis, converse with your doctor about it.
Make sure to inform your doctor or dentist about any products you use (medications, OTC drugs, and herbal remedies) before having a surgical procedure.
This medication is not typically prescribed for women and is not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. If you have any questions, please consult with your doctor.
Interactions

Avanafil should not be used with nitrates, as it can result in a significant drop in blood pressure and potentially cause dizziness, fainting, or even heart attack or stroke.
When taking an alpha-blocker medication, such as doxazosin or tamsulosin, for an enlarged prostate/BPH or high blood pressure, your blood pressure may dip too low, resulting in feelings of dizziness or fainting. To prevent these symptoms from occurring, your doctor may start you off on a lower dose of avanafil to keep your blood pressure in check.
Medicines such as itraconazole, ketoconazole, cobicistat, clarithromycin, erythromycin, indinavir, ritonavir, boceprevir, telaprevir, nefazodone, ribociclib or rifampin can affect how avanafil is removed from your body and potentially impact its efficacy.
Don’t take this medication in combination with avanafil, sildenafil, tadalafil, vardenafil, or other similar medications used to treat ED or pulmonary hypertension.
Overdose
If a person has taken an overdose and is experiencing serious symptoms like unconsciousness or difficulty breathing, call 911 immediately. Other than that, contact the poison control center as soon as possible. People living in the United States can ring the local poison control centers at 1-800-222-1222. Residents of Canada should reach their provincial poison control center.
